Bolton Book Awards

I have just got back from a fantastic trip to Bolton for their annual book awards. These awards are voted for by schools in the area and the shortlisted books this year were:

The Hypnotist by Laurence Anhalt

Caged by Theresa Breslin

Instructions For A Second-hand Heart by Tamsyn Murray

The Goldfish Boy (by me!)

Letters From A Lighthouse by Emma Carroll

The Jamie Drake Equation by Christopher Edge

All of the nominated authors were there and we each did two presentations to groups of students from the area.  We then had the award ceremony in a rather splendid hall!  I’m thrilled to say that The Goldfish Boy won the Younger Fiction Award and Tamsyn Murray won the overall fiction prize!  We were both presented with beautiful bound copies of our books in our favourite colour.  Mine is green!
