Waterstones Children’s Book Prize
25-03-2018
What an exciting week!
Last Thursday I attended the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize award ceremony in Piccadilly, London.
The Goldfish Boy was shortlisted for the Younger Fiction award and all of the other nominees were there with their editors and publishers. It was so nice to meet some of the other authors, and I was especially thrilled to meet Liz Pichon, the amazing author of the Tom Gates books! The children’s laureate, Lauren Child, was also there and she gave a brilliant speech. The wonderful ‘Nevermoor’ by Jessica Townsend won my category (well done, Jessica!) and the overall winner for Book of the Year went to the incredible ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas. It was certainly an evening I will never forget!
You can find out more about the nominees and winners here.
